Joy Christmas Home Tour
The March/April 2018 Home and Garden issue of Grand magazine features a 17 page editorial described as “A friendship made in the garden” detailing how two neighbours love for gardening grew into a friendship through their shared passion and appreciation for each other’s unique style.
An avid life time gardener, Sandi has designed gardens for clients and has held volunteer positions with local horticultural societies throughout her life and her career as an Interior Designer. Pages 12, and 40 through 57.
The summer edition of OurHomes Region of Waterloo chronicles the redecorating of a Doon Village Home in Kitchener by Sandi Loreen Duclos Interiors. Dubbed ‘Fresh Start,’ the editorial describes how Sandi changed the look and feel of her client’s new home to accommodate their taste. With a nod to Transitional style, the home is an entertainer’s dream with an open concept floor plan and a bright, fresh colour palette. Pages 22 – 28.
The Spring 2015 issue of Our Homes Region of Waterloo features the design talents of Sandi Loreen Duclos as she redesigns a 10,000 square foot prestigious home in Waterloo. Labelled ‘Top to Bottom Refresh’ the 5 page feature article chronicles the renovation process of a stately grand home featuring 7 bathrooms, a third floor nanny suite and a ballroom in the entertainment level. Sharing her tips on major renovations, Sandi answers frequently asked questions in the ‘Ask A Designer’ series. Cover and pages 36-40.
The winter 2015/2016 Our Homes Waterloo Region edition showcases 5 pages of ‘big ideas for a small space’ detailing how Sandi Loreen Duclos Interiors completed an empty nest update for a busy and style savvy retired couple who pondered the dilemma of downsizing verses updating their current home of 26 years. Captioned ‘All In Good Time’, the article and images depict a stylish space designed to cater to the couples new life style while offering comfort, charisma and flair. Cover and pages 34 – 38.
The Winter 2013/New Year 2014 issue of Our Homes Magazine, Region of Waterloo publication feature article and cover page details the styling talents of Sandi Duclos of Sandi Loreen Duclos Interiors who along with Julia Correia of Jules For Your Home renovated and decorated the home of recent empty nester clients in Cambridge, Ontario. The 6 page article dubbed, Modern Cottage Snuggled in Cambridge , characterizes the home as ‘Sparkle and Shine’, detailing the joint efforts of both designers throughout the renovation process while highlighting effectively the beauty, functionality and potential accomplished within a modest home situated in a very desirable neighbourhood. November 7, 2013 Sandi Loreen Duclos Interiors was invited to share her expertise in decorating a tree for silent auction to benefit the St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation fundraising Gala, Winter Wonderland. The event was held at the prestigious Hacienda Sarria and is a fundamental fundraising event for the hospital. The elegant cocktail party featured Holiday fashions, a Festive Tree and Silent Auction and gourmet Hors D’oeuvres. Sandi’s themed tree, ‘50 Shades Of Gray’pe’ was a favorite amongst guests and bidders.
November, 2011 Sandi Loreen Duclos Interiors along with Jules For Your Home combined efforts to decorate 49 Caledonia Road, for the Christmas Joy Tour in Guelph, Ontario. The home, labelled ‘an environmental design masterpiece’ by tour coordinators, Sandi and Julia fully furnished and decorated the main floor for this grand event.
Viewed by over 1000 participants, our vision was to encompass the young homeowner’s youthful personalities into the space while embracing the ecofriendly mandate already embraced. A mix of vintage pieces along with modern touches made this home a favorite of tour goers.
Sandi has been an active member of the Kitchener Horticultural Society for almost 2 decades. For 6 years she has been the Garden Tour Coordinator, responsible for securing gardens of distinction throughout the region for members to tour. She has devoted endless volunteer hours to this commitment for the joy of Society members. Along with securing properties, Sandi provides written columns colourfully detailing the garden tours for the Kitchener Horticultural Society web site. In 2011, she was presented with the President’s award for her volunteer commitment to the club.
